Community Update July 2018
This is our third community update. Since the last update we at Luxor have been working hard on new initiatives and improving our current offerings. As usual we rely on our community’s feedback, so please comment or send us a message on ways we can continue to improve!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Luxor, we are an integrated crypto mining business. Our core offering is mining pools built for high quality cryptocurrency communities. We currently run pools for Sia, Decred, LBRY, Loki, Aion, Monero, Zcash and Zencash. We are also a major investor in a mining colocation in Kansas City.
Aion
We released the First Aion True PPS Pool and the community loved it. We were able to capture a significant chunk of the hashrate-even competing against F2Pool.
We helped the Aion team implement and test some fixes to their Kernel. Also, we’ve have been one of the most active members on the Aion Forum :)
Monero
As promised we launched a True PPS Monero Pool. It’s been a couple of days since launch and the pool has been running smoothly, no hiccups or payouts missed. Feel free to join our Monero pool following this Setup Guide. Help us grow together in the Monero mining space!
Zcash
We’re crushing Zcash mining. In under 24 hours of the pool being live we were able to find 17 Zcash blocks and gather over 165 miners!
Zcash improves on the original technology. Bitcoin and most cryptocurrencies expose your entire payment history to the public. Zcash is the first open, permissionless cryptocurrency that can fully protect the privacy of transactions using zero-knowledge cryptography. That is why we set up Luxor’s first Zcash mining pool!
Zencash
Our community was asking for a Zencash PPS Pool and we listened. Zencash is the latest addition to our services as a pool operator. We are pleased to continue to provide our miners with more options and to support the Zencash community.
ZenCash is a platform designed for private communications and private economic activity. Cutting-edge cryptography and zero knowledge proofs enable fully anonymous peer to peer communications with ZenCash. ZenCash’s distributed and encrypted networking design is resistant, to traffic correlation and metadata analysis.
That is why we set up Luxor’s first Zencash mining pool!
Hyperspace
Hyperspace is a Siacoin fork. Hyperspace network will be a global storage marketplace fueled by Space Cash cryptocurrency.
With reduced profitability of Siacoin mining due to increased network difficulty many of our community members are looking for other coins to mine that share the same Blake2b Algorithm as Sia.
That’s why we’re looking into making a pool for this new project. We want to offer our miners a wide range of options to choose from.
Pool Backend Improvements
We’re always working on improving our infrastructure. PPS forces us to be accountable for our luck. If a pool is PPLNS, the pool operator doesn’t care if the pool has good or back luck, they get their percentage regardless. It’s the miner who suffer. By choosing Luxor’s True PPS, we’re saying “We’ve built a rock solid pool that we guarantee is profitable”.
We’ve rebuilt our mining engine. After long nights of coding we were able to achieve a lower block orphan rate.
Chinese Miners — start your engines!
We’ve the new set of pool servers up and running inside mainland China ‘ inside the Great Firewall! Now we’re developing the best strategy on how to deploy them. Expect these new set of Stratum nodes in the following days.
User Accounts
This is a feature we’ve been promising for way to long. Now, we’ve dedicated an entire team to accomplish this task. We take your security very seriously that’s why we’re committed to implement the best security practices.
Users accounts will enable us to provide more features that we’re lacking like: email notifications, configurable payout threshold and more personalized stats. On top of that, users accounts won’t be mandatory, so if you don’t want to register that’s totally fine.

Luxor Community
We owe most of our success to date to our community members. We interact with 1100+ Discord members in our various chats. Members help us troubleshoot and work with us to create the best possible pools. If you haven’t joined us there yet please do!
We now have over 6000+ unique miners that are happily hashing over our 8 different pools :)
Our Medium posts have 45K+ reads. If there is a topic that you would like us to write on please send us a message! We are happy to create setup guides, explanations of different blockchain concepts and so forth.
